In my mid 20s I felt trapped in a professional box, feeling unfulfilled in a career that I loved because I was so focused on competition and finish lines. So as a business strategist, I used what I knew: strategy. If this worked for multimillion dollar companies, why couldn’t I make minor adjustments and strategize myself as a brand for career advancement on my own terms? So I threw caution to the wind and did just that: became a brand. I began to document everything. This documentation allowed me to set short term goals, track and score my skill set, but also forced me to learn and accept who I was at the current moment, not who I wanted to be. It forces you to look at the now instead of the finish line. It helped me succeed, but until I wrote it down and shared it with everyone else, I was revolting in silence and this is a message that needs to be heard and adopted!
It all starts with the book: the method is written out in detail. Every chapter has a tangible take away. It doesn’t just tell you what to do. It tells you how to do it, why to do it, and when to do it! 100ish pages of strategy and accountability for your own professional destiny that has now evolved into an online community, certification course and podcast.
The Revolt Career Network is a passion project, hands down the most important project I’ve ever worked on. I am a firm believer that success is found when passion meets purpose. BYOB Revolt (the book), the method and every avenue it takes is truly my purpose.
